Welcome to Curriculum and Instructional Services! Our mission is to provide the best possible support to all customers, including students, parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, support staff, business partners, community members, K-8 elementary school teachers, administrators and staff, and college and university faculty and staff served by the Roseville Joint Union High School District. 

Curriculum and Instructional Services is responsible for all of the professional working relationships, processes and policies of the district's learning delivery system, including:

  • Student learning processes and applied learning activities, student performance standards, and teaching and assessment processes.
  • The development and continuous improvement of the district's graduation requirements, including the Essential Knowledge and Skills requirements, the general district graduation requirements, and the alignment of these requirements with the California State graduation requirements.
  • The development and continuous improvement of district courses, program majors, career fields, and the Graduation Exhibit.
  • Professional development training for district teachers and support staff.
  • Assessment and evaluation processes, including the California State Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) program, the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) program, the California State University English Placement Test (EPT) and Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) testing programs, and the California Basic Education Data System (CBEDS).
  • Leadership and management of the district's Design Team Process and new learning organization governance process.
  • Educational and business partnerships, including Sierra Community College classes offered at district high schools, 2+2 articulated high school courses, Regional Occupation Program (ROP) courses, internships, apprenticeships, job training, job shadowing, academies, etc. Business partnerships include many businesses and business groups in the greater Sacramento/Placer County region.
